This is a full-time (Monday-Friday 9-5), in-person position at our office in Fort Worth, Texas.

We are seeking a skilled web developer to manage our portfolio of client websites, provide insights into analytics, collaborate in the design process, and quickly create landing pages. Success in this role means delivering user-friendly, visually appealing, secure, and high-performance websites that meet our clients’ needs and enhance their online presence.

The ideal candidate will effectively communicate with clients, provide new ideas for improvements, ensure web development best practices are followed, and realize our clients’ digital vision. This position is key to our company’s mission, as it supports our clients’ digital strategies and amplifies their political and advocacy efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our designers to translate design mock-ups into fully functional, responsive websites that meet client expectations.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their unique brand, audience, goals, and messaging, structuring their websites so visitors easily recognize the calls to action, understand the messaging, and quickly find value using their site.
  • Gain insights from traffic and analytics to improve design and increase conversions.
  • Enhance SEO, loading speed, image optimization, caching tools, and ranking across search engines and platforms.
  • Prioritize and implement mobile-first, user-friendly, responsive website designs.
  • Stay current on the latest software updates and security fixes, best practices, and emerging web technologies we could capitalize on.
  • Manage website hosting accounts and systems.
  • Report progress on the aforementioned responsibilities to the Chief Technology Officer.

Qualifications

  • Have at least 2-3 years of experience.
  • Demonstrate web development skills with a solid portfolio.
  • Must know how to code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Node.JS, Python, Bash, and front-end frameworks are a bonus.
  • Must be proficient in using and managing WordPress. Custom plugin/theme knowledge is a major bonus.
  • Experience with Debian or Ubuntu Server would be helpful but is not required.
  • Very thorough and pays attention to details.
  • You appreciate a challenge and can solve problems.
  • Possess effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
  • Certifications, licenses, and courses are a nice bonus.
